FORT SMITH, AR, March 5, 2019 - Fort Smith Public Schools (FSPS), located in northwest Arkansas, has announced its partnership with Cenergistic to implement a sustainability program with the goal of reducing energy consumption and utility costs. FSPS plans to achieve nearly $2M in cost savings throughout the five-year partnership.
FSPS Superintendent Dr. Doug Brubaker and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Terry Morawski were previous clients of Cenergistic while employed at Mansfield Independent School District in Texas and maintained a successful sustainability program with Cenergistic during their tenure. Based on their previous experience and relationship with Cenergistic, they chose to recreate that success for FSPS to reduce energy usage, generate costs savings and promote sustainability.
“We are thrilled to partner with Fort Smith School District to implement our Energy Sustainability Program. The full-time onsite energy specialist, powered by our Ceres™ software platform, will work alongside Fort Smith’s facilities team to ensure all equipment and systems are optimized for peak efficiency. This will result in what we believe to be great success for the district in both cost and energy savings. We are also enthusiastic to create a culture of sustainability among the entire organization and surrounding community,” said Gary Clark, Regional Vice President of Client Development at Cenergistic.
Included with the program is one full-time Cenergistic Energy Specialist, access to Cenergistic’s Center of Excellence with remote and onsite engineering support, and Cenergistic’s Ceres™ cloud-based, machine learning software for optimization of all energy-using equipment across district buildings and facilities.
Additionally, Cenergistic will facilitate ENERGY STAR®  certifications for the district’s buildings to help position FSPS as a leader in energy conservation and sustainability.
