(DALLAS, Feb. 27, 2020) — To distinguish continued excellence in water conservation, Cenergistic recognizes its team of highly trained Qualified Water Efficient Landscapers (QWEL). These Cenergistic Energy Specialists, embedded into client organizations in California and Utah, have advanced training in water efficiency, in addition to the rigorous energy conservation training all Cenergistic Energy Specialists receive.

The following Energy Specialists are QWEL Certified:

  • Brett Nelson (Alameda Unified School District)
  • Tom Welsh (Moreno Valley USD)
  • Tony Gutierrez (Moreno Valley USD)
  • Robert Caraveo (Lynwood USD)
  • Daniel Guevara (Compton USD)
  • Kenyon Petersen (Alpine School District)
  • Brandon Hawkins (Alpine School District)
  • Alex Kovalick (Santa Rosa City Schools)
  • Cesar Sosa (Bakersfield City School District)
  • Esteban Tejada (Bassett USD)

These Energy Specialists have produced some of the most significant water savings across all Cenergistic clients. Of note, Moreno Valley USD (28 percent savings on water expenses), Alameda USD (36 percent savings on irrigation expenses) and Compton USD (27 percent savings on irrigation and sewer savings) have all achieved substantial success.

To find opportunities to save money, Cenergistic Energy Specialists work with client personnel to audit and optimize energy- and water-using systems across the organization to achieve peak efficiency. The Specialists track utility consumption through state-of-the art technology to identify waste and drive conservation in real time.

QWEL Certified Energy Specialists take conservation a step further, using their advanced training to prioritize water efficiency as much as energy efficiency. The advanced training allows them to do this while simultaneously improving the health and appearance of our clients’ turf and landscaping.

“Having so many QWEL Certified Energy Specialists supporting our clients provides us with that much more opportunity for savings, while improving outcomes in plant health and appearance,” said Rob Sullivent, Cenergistic’s Regional Vice President of West Operations. “They’re already the best of the best when it comes to energy efficiency, and their water expertise makes for the ultimate skillset, one needed to most optimally conserve resources in a region often challenged by water scarcity.”
