John Bernard serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Cenergistic, where he leads sales, marketing and strategic growth. The role returns him to the commercial leadership role he held for most of his 31 years with the company. Over that time, he has directly or indirectly overseen Cenergistic’s growth from 125 clients and $150 million in total energy savings to more than 1,500 clients saving over $10 billion. He is now focused on expanding Cenergistic’s reach in three growth markets: Higher Education, Health Care, and Commercial and Industrial.

John has more than three decades of experience in energy efficiency, conservation and optimization, and has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1986. Before joining Cenergistic in 1995, he spent eight years in finance and accounting roles at a Fortune 150 oil and gas company. There he developed and managed budgets and income projections for the Exploration and Production Division. Earlier, he worked at Ernst & Young and Southwestern Bell Telephone.

John is a member of the Oklahoma Society of Public Accountants. He holds an MBA, magna cum laude, from Oklahoma City University. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma and one in Piano Performance from Oklahoma Baptist University.
