Dr. Paz serves as Senior Executive Consultant for Cenergistic, focusing on National Sales, K-12 and Higher Education market development, executive consulting and key leadership recruiting. Dr. Paz has a stellar 50 year career in education and business, including serving as associate superintendent in Dallas Independent School District, TX; Superintendent of Tucson Unified School District, AZ; and serving as the first Hispanic Superintendent of El Paso Independent School District, TX.

Stan is the founding president of the Association for Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS), an organization of 8,000+ members operating across 20 state affiliates. He has been active on many boards as well, including Walden University, The University of Peru for Applied Sciences, National Hispanic University and the George Lucas Foundation for Technology in Education. His many achievements include being named the American Association of School Superintendents Top 100 Executive Educators in 1988, named Texas Superintendent of the Year by the Texas Association of School Administrators in 1994, being honored with the ALAS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007 and earning the National Hispanic Corporate Achievers Award in 2009. Stan also spent 10 years at Harvard University’s Urban Superintendent Program Advisory Council.

In addition to public education, Stan has served as Vice President of McGraw-Hill Education and Regional Vice President of Sylvan Learning. Prior to joining the Cenergistic team, Stan served for five years as Executive Director of the Texas Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (TALAS).

Dr. Paz earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education – Teaching Major Spanish, his Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, and his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Arizona. He makes his home in Tucson, AZ.
